Our Philosophy
Sustainable design, also known as green design, is the basic philosophy behind all of our projects. Sustainable design seeks to manage natural, economic and social systems and resources in a fashion that enhances the quality of life for this generation and those to come. We go beyond the use of recycled building materials. We incorporate a balance between:

  • Resource and material efficiency- Energy use, full life cycle and impact of building materials used in the construction process.
  • Occupant health and well being- Natural light, clean air and healthy working environments
  • Cultural and community sensitivity- Respect and enhance existing community and site.

Think of green design as a circular process; every component affects another and ultimately impacts our natural environment.

LEADERSHIP IN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (LEED)

As a way to measure the success of implementing these sustainable practices, we use the guidelines established by the LEED Green Building Rating System™. This is a nationally accepted standard for green buildings and was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council membership. LEED is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.

LEED provides a complete framework for assessing building performance and meeting sustainability goals for site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selections and indoor environmental quality.
